A confluence of sinuses in the skull was originally named " torcular Herophili " after him.
This term more precisely refers to the concavity in the bone which is the location of the confluence of sinuses.
Near the internal occipital protuberance, it drains into the confluence of sinuses and deviates to either side ( usually the right ).
